"One learns of the pain of others by suffering one’s own pain, he would say, by turning inside oneself, by finding one’s own soul. And it is important to know pain, he said. It destroys our self-pride, our arrogance, our indifference toward others."

The glory which shall be revealed in us.

If I find in myself desires which nothing in this world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for another world.” -C.S. Lewis

I saw this quote just now, and I really needed the reminder. I figured if I needed it, maybe someone else does too.  When I see this C.S. Lewis quote I often think of my favorite verse in the Bible, and it gets my head back on track.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

This verse means alot to me.  Reminding me that anything I go through here, whether it be a terrible event or just a feeling I can’t shake, is nothing.  But then again, the way I handle those feelings will directly effect “the glory that shall be revealed” in me, a child of God saved by his grace through faith.  I want to bring God glory and if it means pressing through tough times or lazy days, then that’s exactly what I’ll have to do.
